To celebrate Tower's 16th birthday, a little gig was put on. Over 5 hours long, this little gig.
Award for best band of the day goes to....Heathers:
I had prepared myself for disappointment. Why I do not know. Perhaps it was because I had failed to believe the hype of these two. How could one guitar and two girls cause such a stir? See them live and you'll understand. Absolutely stunning harmonies, clever lyrics, and a charming stage presence makes Heathers what they are. They blew my smelly socks right off.
Other highlights:
Heritage Centre: 'We're a bit louder than Heathers'. With a set dominated by songs from their forthcoming release, Heritage Centre were damn impressive. A band so full of ideas that song 'Stars' (which received airplay on Phantom FM all the way back in 2006) has now been re-written for the third time. This new version of the song closed their set and was a major highlight.
Talulah Does The Hula: Electro pop that will make you smile. Seriously.
A wonderful day and a great way to celebrate the birthday of our finest record store. Tower's Instore gigs really are something special.
